Earlier today, Xiaomi announced that they will be launching the Redmi 3 on January 12. The teaser didn’t tell us much about its hardware specifications but it suggested that the device will have a full metal body design with a 5-inches display. Some of its specifications were revealed when it went through TENAA certification last month, but the main things, its chipset, processor and GPU were still unknown. Well, not anymore.
Famous analyst, Sun Changxu shared those details today. She says the Xiaomi’s first device of 2016, Redmi 3 will be equipped with Snapdragon 616 SoC. Snapdragon 616 SoC comes equipped with an octa-core processor which goes upto 1.7 GHz, Snapdragon X5 LTE and Adreno 405 GPU. Sun Changxu also said that the price of Redmi 3 will be high.
Other specifications were already given by TENAA last month. According to the listing, the 5-inches display of Redmi will be 720×1280 in resolution. It will have a 2 GB RAM for multi-tasking and a 13MP camera at back, a 5MP camera on the front. For storage, it will have 16GB internal supporting expansion upto 128GB via microSD slot. Redmi will be running Android 5.1.1 out of box. Redmi 3 will be fuelled by a 4000 mAh battery.
